It’s almost time to celebrate Memorial Day!  While some people only look at Memorial Day as the kickoff to summer, there is a lot more meaning to the holiday than that.

What is the meaning of Memorial Day?

Memorial Day, observed on the last Monday of May, is a National Holiday honoring the men and women who died while serving in the United States military.

On this day we remember these armed forces members and honor them with parades, military ceremonies that can include traditions such as the playing of taps on a bugle and the placing of flags or laying of wreaths on graves, as well as family visits to the cemetery to visit the resting places of loved ones.
