Looking for a fun and easy craft to do with your kids? This Elephant Paper Plate Craft is the perfect hands-on activity for home, school, or a rainy afternoon indoors! It uses simple supplies and is a great way for kids to get creative while working on fine motor skills.

I am loving this fun Elephant Paper Plate craft! You have to admit it is super adorable! The best part of this fun craft is it uses the basic of supplies and has easy step-by-step instructions. Plus, the kids love seeing their elephant come to life on the paper plate.
Elephants are always a hit with kids, and this paper plate version turns out super cute — complete with big floppy ears and a trunk. It’s a fun option whether you’re planning a zoo-themed week, a jungle animal unit, or just looking for something fun to fill the afternoon.
One note about the colors for your elephant. Sometimes I keep it really simple and leave the white paper plate as it is. Otherwise we can opt for colors! For a more realistic elephant, choose gray paint and paper. But for something a little more fun and kinda cute, I like a light blue elephant. But seriously, you can make your elephants any color you like!
Supplies Needed

-
1 paper plate
-
Gray or light blue construction paper
-
Gray or light blue paint
-
Glue
-
Scissors
-
Popsicle stick (optional)
How to Make
-
Print the Template
Print the elephant trunk and ear template on gray or light blue paper.
-
Cut Out the Pieces
Carefully cut out the trunk and both ears. -
Paint the Plate
If you’re opting for paint, use paint to color the paper plate gray or light blue. Set aside and let it dry completely.
-
Assemble the Elephant
Once the plate is dry, glue on the ears, trunk, and wiggle eyes. Bend the “tab” portion of the ears backwards and glue that piece to the paper plate so that the ears stick out from the plate.
-
Add a Handle (Optional)
For a puppet-style version, glue or tape a popsicle stick to the back of the plate.
-
Let It Dry
Allow everything to dry completely before playing or displaying your elephant.
Helpful Tip:
Younger kids might need help with cutting out the ears from the template, but they’ll love gluing and assembling the elephant all by themselves!
