We are super excited about MIDDLE SCHOOL: The Worst Years of My Life coming to theaters this weekend! Movies based on books are some of our favs AND it’s not often we get to see a live-action movie that’s rated PG. What’s also exciting is that we have a super fun MIDDLE SCHOOL: The Worst Years of My Life Prize Pack Giveaway just for Jinxy Kids readers! (Keep reading to find out more.)

MIDDLE SCHOOL: The Worst Years of My Life chronicles the trials and triumphs of Rafe Khatchadorian, as he uses his wits to battle bullies, hormones and the tyrannical, test-obsessed Principal Dwight.

Rafe has an epic imagination…and a slight problem with authority. Both collide when he transfers to an oppressive, rule-crazy middle school. Drowning in do’s and don’ts, Rafe and his scheming best friend Leo hatch a plan to break every rule in the school’s Code of Conduct. It’s Ferris Bueller meets Home Alone as their battle with Principal Dwight explodes into chaos both real and imagined. But Dwight displays his own fiendish creativity, striking back at the rulebreakers. Meanwhile, Rafe struggles to hide his misbehavior from Jeanne, the straight-A, overachieving girl of his dreams, and at home, his mother’s boyfriend — a moochy, jack-of-no-trades named Bear — threatens to become his stepfather.middleschool_bookcover

Rafe’s revolution leaps from the page to the screen in this ambitious live-action/animated comedy based on the New York Times bestseller “Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life” by legendary novelist James Patterson.

James Patterson is one of my favorite writers. I love his Alex Cross books. I would like my kids to be able to experience what a great author he is with books on their level.

I think we will enjoy this because it is a movie we both would love and my daughter had a not so easy time adjusting to middle school. So she might be able to really relate.

Let us know why you think you or your kids will enjoy MIDDLE SCHOOL: The Worst Years of My Life in theaters :

It does look like a good movie but my kids are not picky, any opportunity to be unchained and let out of the basement is a treat for them.
